Our vision is to raise up a generation of godly influencers. These are young people who are firmly grounded in their relationship with Jesus Christ. They have received the best education, enabling them to take up positions of influence in every area of their nation. We started with a preschool, which over the years grew into a primary school with over 200 students.
At the other end of the spectrum, we felt a call to equip the current leaders of the local churches by forming a Bible College.
Only around 5% of pastors in our region had received any Bible training whatsoever.
Today pastors are being trained in the Word of God – how to study and how to teach. Many of our grads have gone on to plant churches and start other ministries that serve their communities.
Kid’s Clubs started as an outreach to children who survive on the streets. During the 2 hour weekly gatherings, the children receive food, play games, and learn everything from the most basic hygiene practices to the most-essential Word of God.
This ministry has grown from 19 kids and 5 leaders in the first week, to over 1000 kids and more than 70 leaders in 14 different locations from Kigoma to almost 100 miles south on Lake Tanganyika.
We hold annual summer camps for youth to refresh and recruit new leaders to the program. We also hold Kid’s camps to teach and encourage those children who have been a part of Kid’s Clubs during the year.
Our village outreaches are an exciting time to bring help and hope to remote villages along Lake Tanganyika. We have seen much fruit from these outreaches over the years.
The outreach can consist of many different parts, such as seeking out candidates for the Bible College. Setting up new Kid’s Clubs, a variety of medical training and services, seminars, Jesus film at night, and door-to-door evangelism are also a part of our outreach.
We happily host teams from North America who feel the call to join us in outreach.
Jobs are hard to come by. However, through our Vocational Training Center, men and women are given the skills needed to help them support their families.
Training has included sewing, jewelry making, bread baking, welding, concrete finishing, and business skills. If you have a trade to teach, we would love to host you.
We have also been able to grant Micro-Business Loans to get our grads started in their own business.
